Trichloroacetic acid (TCA) is used as a reagent for the precipitation of proteins1,2 and nucleic acids3. The addition of 10% TCA solution will precipitate most proteins and the DNA can be precipitated with 5-10% ice cold TCA solution. This product is designed for research use only and must not be used for therapeutic purposes.
Features
- Can be used for protein precipitation
- Ready to use solution, filter sterilized
- Can also be used for DNA precipitation: It precipitates nucleic acid polymers longer than 20 nucleotides and can be used to separate radio-labeled nucleotides incorporated into nucleic acid from unincorporated label.
Applications
- Precipitation of DNA polymers
- Precipitation of proteins
