This antibody is designed for specific and qualitative detection of Toxoplasma gondii in infected tissues. Formalin-fixed paraffin-embedded and frozen tissue sections can be used. Characterization of this antibody by immunohistochemistry has shown specific staining for Toxoplasma organisms in infected brain tissue.
Form: 1.0 ml of pooled filtered rabbit antisera diluted in phosphate buffered saline, pH 7.6, with 1% bovine serum albumin.
Immunogen: This antibody was produced by immunization of rabbits with live organisms of Toxoplasma gondii strain C56.
Dilution: 1:40 - 1:80. Each lab should determine their own optimal working dilution. Paraffin tissue requires pretreatment with purified pepsin for 5 minutes at 37.5°C.
Note: The recommended positive control tissue is Toxoplasma infected brain (other Toxoplasma infected tissues may also be used).
